Resolving a flagged payslip
When a payslip is flagged in Halo, you can now resolve it yourself instead of contacting support. Open the flagged payslip and choose one of two options, depending on why it was flagged.
Correct a figure we read wrong
If the flag is down to a figure we read incorrectly from the document, choose to correct it. You re-enter the details for that payslip and we re-check them against the Certificate of Sponsorship for the period:
The pay period start and end dates, and the period type.
The gross pay for the period.
The hours worked.
If the corrected figures meet the requirement, the flag clears and your compliance score updates. If they still fall short, the payslip stays flagged and you can record a reason instead.
Record a reason for a lower payslip
If the pay was genuinely lower for a legitimate reason, record the reason rather than changing the figures. Choose the reason that applies:
Statutory sick pay. The worker was on SSP for part of the period.
Maternity or paternity pay. The worker was on family leave.
Agreed temporary reduction. A temporary, agreed reduction in pay or hours.
Unpaid leave. The worker took a period of unpaid leave.
Already back-paid. The shortfall has since been paid. Enter the amount and date, and we re-check that the top-up meets the requirement.
Other. Any other reason, which you describe in your own words.
You set the dates the reason covers, with an optional end date, and confirm that the reduction is temporary and that the contracted role and salary are unchanged. You can attach a document as supporting evidence.
Reporting a change to the Home Office
Clearing a payslip flag and reporting a change to the Home Office are separate steps. Where the reason you record may need reporting, Halo tells you and lets you report the change or link a report you have already made, on Borderless or directly with the Home Office. You decide whether and when to report.
What you confirm before you submit
Before either route is submitted, you read and accept a short declaration confirming the information you have entered is accurate and that responsibility for your sponsor compliance stays with you. Only owners and editors can resolve a payslip. Viewers can see resolutions and the reason recorded, but cannot make changes.
