Now that the Home Office is phasing out Biometric Residence Permits (BRP cards), this change introduces eVisas as the new standard for proving immigration status. The eVisa is the electronic equivalent of a BRP card. You’ll need to request a copy of the eVisa from the employee. It’s the candidate's responsibility to have an eVisa, and if they wish to upload it, they should either download the PDF from the UKVI portal or take a screenshot of the section that includes their photo.

It is not a necessity to upload a candidate's eVisa onto the platform - this is up to the candidate if they wish to do so. All that is required of you is to complete the Right To Work Check (RTWC) and save the result and upload it to the 'Right to Work' section of the candidate's profile on the Borderless platform. The Right to Work Check is a compliance check that needs to be dated before the employee start date. To check an employee's eVisa status, use the share code they provide along with their date of birth at https://www.gov.uk/view-right-to-work. This is the correct process for verifying their right to work.

You can read more about the step-by-step process of how you can use that share code to verify their right to work here. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
