New: Expected dates on your timeline

You can now see when each stage of your case is expected to complete. Open any visa application, Certificate of Sponsorship request, or sponsor licence in your Borderless account and the timeline shows an "Expected to complete by" date on the current stage, and an "Expected by" date on each upcoming stage.

These estimates are based on how long similar recent cases have taken, so they reflect current Home Office processing speeds rather than a fixed promise. A note alongside the dates makes this clear, and you can hover over any date for a fuller explanation. Past stages are unchanged and still show their actual completion dates.

When we don't have enough data

Where we don't yet have enough recent cases to give a reliable estimate for a stage, we won't show a date. Instead we'll let you know we'll update you when that stage progresses.

New: A flag when a case runs longer than usual

If a case passes its expected date without moving, the timeline now flags this clearly, and your Borderless contact is alerted automatically so we can chase it on your behalf.

New: Expected dates in your emails and from our support assistants

Case status update emails and the daily summary email now include expected dates too. Our support assistants, including Fin, can also share expected dates when you ask about the status of a case.

Do I need to do anything?

No. Expected dates appear automatically on eligible cases. Paused and completed cases do not show estimates.
