Information on visa application fees and invoices.

💡 What Are These Fees?

  • CoS Assignment Fee - A one-off fee the Home Office charges for issuing the Certificate of Sponsorship for each candidate.

  • Immigration Skills Charge (ISC) - A fee paid by the employer to the government to invest in training UK workers.

  • Government Visa Fee - The official visa processing fee charged by the UK government.

  • Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) - A fee that gives the candidate access to the UK’s National Health Service during their stay.

  • Borderless Fee - A service fee charged by Borderless for handling and managing the sponsorship and visa process.

🚫 Exemptions:

  • 🎓 Candidates switching from a Student visa to a Skilled Worker visa do not need to pay the ISC fee.

  • 🩺 Candidates applying under the Health & Care Worker visa route do not need to pay the IHS fee.

🚩 Please note: The Borderless Fee will vary depending on what plan you've signed up to.

🇬🇧 Visa Fees – UK-Based (Non-Health & Care Candidates)

Legally the employer always has to cover these fees for the visa application:

  • CoS assignment fee: £525

  • ISC (Immigration Skills Charge) fee: £364 per year of sponsorship for small sponsors, £1,000 per year of sponsorship for large sponsors.

These additional fees can either by paid by the employer, or passed onto the candidate:

  • Borderless Fee

  • Government Visa Fee: £885 for sponsorship up to 3 years, or £1,751 for sponsorship up to 5 years.

  • IHS (Immigration Health Surcharge) fee: £1035 per year of sponsorship

🌍 Visa Fees – Overseas-Based (Non-Health & Care Candidates)

Legally the employer always has to cover these fees for the visa application:

  • CoS assignment fee: £525

  • ISC (Immigration Skills Charge) fee: £364 per year of sponsorship for small sponsors, £1,000 per year of sponsorship for large sponsors.

These additional fees can either by paid by the employer, or passed onto the candidate:

  • Borderless Fee

  • Government Visa Fee: £769 for sponsorship up to 3 years, or £1,519 for sponsorship up to 5 years.

  • IHS (Immigration Health Surcharge) fee: £1035 per year of sponsorship

🚩 Please note: The above amount is approximate, as overseas fees are charged in foreign currencies, and therefore the exact amount payable will vary

🩺 Visa Fees – Health & Care Worker Visa

Legally the employer always has to cover these fees for the visa application:

  • CoS assignment fee: £525

  • ISC (Immigration Skills Charge) fee: £364 per year of sponsorship for small sponsors, £1,000 per year of sponsorship for large sponsors.

These additional fees can either by paid by the employer, or passed onto the candidate:

  • Borderless Fee

  • Government Visa Fee: £304 for sponsorship up to 3 years, or £590 for sponsorship up to 5 years

You can view all your payment details - including invoices, credit notes, and subscription charges - anytime by heading to the ‘Payments’ tab in the left-hand menu of your Employer Portal.
