🧾 Employer-Covered Fees (Required by Law)

By law, employers must cover the following government fees when sponsoring a candidate:

  • πŸ“„ CoS Assignment Fee - Β£525

  • πŸ“Œ Immigration Skills Charge (ISC)

    • Β£364 per year of sponsorship for small sponsors

    • Β£1,000 per year of sponsorship for large sponsors

These are non-negotiable and cannot be passed onto the candidate.

🀝 Fees That Can Be Paid by Employer or Candidate

These fees can be paid either by the employer or passed on to the candidate, depending on your internal policy:

  • πŸ’Ό Borderless Fee
Varies depending on your subscription plan with us.

  • πŸ›‚ Government Visa Fee
    The amount depends on:

    • The SOC code

    • The length of sponsorship

    • If they are UK based or an overseas candidate.

  • ❀️ Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)

    • Β£1,035 per year of sponsorship

    • Note: This fee does not apply to Health & Care Worker visas

πŸ“Š Visa Fees Calculator

The costs of sponsorship can be confusing and overwhelming. Borderless has therefore developed a visa fees calculator to help you understand which government fees apply in each individual sponsorship scenario.

The calculator will show you what the different fees are, and if they must be covered by the employer or if the fee(s) can be covered by the candidate.

πŸ“Œ Tip: Plan Ahead

We recommend using the calculator before sending a sponsorship offer to ensure clarity for both employer and candidate.
