Calculating Minimum Salary for Employees
From 9 April 2025, the minimum salary requirement for the Skilled Worker visa increased from £23,200 (£11.90 per hour) to £25,000 (£12.82 per hour). Any new Skilled Worker visa applications processed after April 9th will have to meet this minimum salary requirement.
Skilled Workers with existing visas who stay with their current employer and do not require an extension before their visa expires will not be affected by this change. For any Skilled Worker visa renewals or job changes after 9 April 2025, companies should ensure employees meet the updated salary requirements.
You can use our Minimum Salary Calculator to work out the exact salary required, which varies on the SOC code the candidate will be sponsored under.
