⏳ CoS Expiry Dates Explained

Both Defined and Undefined Certificates of Sponsorship have expiry dates. If a CoS is not assigned before its expiry date, it cannot be used.

πŸ”Ή Defined CoS Expiry

  • Defined CoS expire 3 months after they are granted by the Home Office.

  • This means you have a 3-month window from the approval date to assign the CoS to a candidate.

πŸ”΄ Undefined CoS Expiry

  • Undefined CoS expire on the same date each year β€” your CoS expiry date.

  • For example, if your expiry date is 15th February every year, any unassigned CoS will expire after this date, even if approved the day before (e.g., 14th February).

πŸ” How to Check Your CoS Expiry Dates

You can view your CoS expiry dates easily in Borderless:

  1. Go to the Certificates of Sponsorship page

  2. Click View Defined or View Undefined

This will show you the expiry dates relevant to your allocations.
