English Language Requirements for Sponsorship

Candidates will need to prove they have English language skills to the required level if they are applying for a Skilled Worker Visa.

You will need to meet the English Language requirement by either of the following:

English Language Test

You must pass this at level B1, by a Home Office approved test centre, complete with a reference number.

There are a few approved English language test providers you can choose from when booking your English language test.

IELTS: (For the Skilled Worker application, you must select either the IELTS for UKVI Academic or IELTS for UKVI General Training)

Pass grade: 4.0 (B1) on all topics (speaking, listening, reading and writing)

Pearson: (For the Skilled Worker application, you must select PTE Academic UKVI) - Pass grade: between 43-58 on all topics (speaking, listening, reading and writing)

LanguageCert (For the Skilled Worker application please select LanguageCert International ESOL SELT B1).

Pass grade: B1 on all topics (speaking, listening, reading and writing)

Degree taught in English

If you have a degree that was taught in English in the UK, you will need to upload a copy of your degree certificate. You will also need this to be verified by ECCTIS, which will verify that their degree was taught in English. Please ensure to upload a copy of the ECCTIS certificate.

Exemptions

Any dependents under the age of 18 will not need to provide proof of english language.
